Alan J. Knight, of New Providence, died peacefully Saturday, January 7, 2023, in the comfort of his family's presence. His life began in Lancaster, PA to James and Edna Knight. Alan served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the Destroyer U. S. S. Fox. He was a charter and life member of VFW Post 3575 of Quarryville and also a member of the American Legion Post 603. One of his favorites was being a life member of the Pequea Boat Club. He was a valued employee for 44 years at Pennsylvania Power and Light Company working at the Holtwood Power Plant. Alan will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by two daughters, Karen (Larry) Phillips and Janet (Frank) Duda; five grandsons and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Anita Fellenbaum, and one daughter, Joyce Knight. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cremation Services of Pennsylvania.
