Obituary

Albert E. Weibel , known as "Al", age 76, passed away February 17, 2026, after a sustained illness. Albert was predeceased by family members Mother, Louise, Father, Howard, Sisters Martha, Cecelia Wayman and

Patricia Bluff, and brother Howard, Jr. Albert leaves behind daughter Aubrey, brother Harry, Brother-in-law Harold Wayman and several nephews and nieces.

Albert was a 25 year-plus heart transplant survivor and a strong supporter of the Gift of Life Donor Program. He was involved in the music scene from the age of 5 when he joined his family’s band, “The Bluegrass Buckeroos”, and was involved in music his whole life. Over the last decade Albert was a regular in the Lancaster County music scene with “The Chestnuts”, with Jack Brunner, Jim Folker and Tom Breneisen and “The Harmony Brothers” with Jack. As Jack said, “Al’s influence and his sweet harmonies will be deeply missed!”

There will be a Celebration of Friendship for Albert on Sunday, March 15th, from 2 to 5 PM in the social hall of the Byerland Mennonite Church, 931 Byerland Church Rd, Willow Street, Pa 17584. All who knew Albert, and especially those who share his love of music are invited to attend. The event will include food and non-alcoholic beverages, and an OPEN MIC hosted by The Chestnuts. Bring your guitar and your voice and let’s celebrate the memories and good times we had with Al!
