Obituary

Charles Sultzbach passed away on January 23, 2026. Born in Lancaster on November 22, 1940, he was the son of the late Charles William Sultzbach and Anna (Rocky) Sultzbach.Charles spent the majority of his life as a drywall finisher. He took great pride in his work, calling himself the best there ever was. This dedication became a family cornerstone; he trained his sons in the trade, a tradition passed down to his grandson, creating a legacy of the finest drywall finishers around.

Outside of work, Charlie was an avid bowler and a lover of Florida. In the golden age of CB radios, he was known by his handle, the "Daytona Kid." He had a love for cars, but none held a candle to the Chevy Blazer. A truly kind soul, Charles spent hours patrolling the beaches in his Blazers, looking for stranded motorists to pull out of the sand.

Charlie loved Christmas and took joy in covering his home in decorations. He took pride in finding the biggest, best tree and ensuring there was never a shortage of gifts underneath.

Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sandra (Connor) Sultzbach. Charlie was devastated by the loss and his family finds great peace in knowing that they are finally reunited. He was also preceded in death by his siblings; William Sultzbach and David Sultzbach. He is survived by his sister, Sandra and sister-in-law, GraceAn Connor Graham (Vernon). His hardworking spirit lives on through his three children: Robert A. Sultzbach (Margaret Giordano), Scott D. Sultzbach, and Dana K. Hummel.

He was the proud grandfather of 6: Amanda M. Hackman (Cory), Alecia A. Jakiel (Scott), Steven Sultzbach (Samantha), Jason Sultzbach (Rachel), Allison N. Reichenbach (Rick), and Adam R. Smith. His legacy continues through 9 great-grandchildren: Kayla L. Hackman, Cory S. Hackman Jr., Emily Gieza, Gabriella R. Jakiel, Jayce Sultzbach, Rayla Sultzbach, Charlotte Reichenbach, Nolan Sultzbach, and Lincoln Reichenbach; and one great-great-grandchild, Braelynn L. Moyer.
