Chester J. Walker (Wojciechowski), 90, of West Chester, PA, passed away on October 26, 2026. He was a man of firm handshakes, steady habits, and quiet devotion to his family, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born and raised in Chester, Pennsylvania, he attended St. Hedwig’s, pole vaulted at Chester High School and then Pennsylvania Military College, where he developed the discipline and sense of duty that marked the rest of his life. After serving with the US Army in Korea, Chet built a long career in technology and business continuity, working at Berman Leasing, Honeywell, Sungard and Comdisco before launching his own disaster recovery consulting practice. An old-school professional, he travelled extensively in the US and internationally for work. He believed in dressing the part, putting in the hours and not complaining. Nothing pleased him more than talking shop with his children, trading stories about their careers and travels.

Outside of work Chet pursued many interests. He was a devoted fan of Frank Sinatra, a regular at local art shows, concerts, parades and gardens. Chet was a selective foodie — a good Italian hoagie or cheesesteak was never turned down and he particularly loved kielbasa and pickled herring and celebrating a Wigilia Polish Christmas Eve. He spent happy hours landscaping his yard and watching the wildlife that visited the dream home he built with Jeanne, his wife of 38 years. He loved photographing their many international trips. Chet may have been happiest on a golf course with his family…he accomplished a hole-in-one at 70 years old. He remained famously frugal and wore khakis every day, everywhere.

Chet was a faithful member of the Catholic community, worshipping at St. Hedwig’s in Chester, Ss. Simon and Jude in Westtown, and most recently St. Cornelius in Chadds Ford. He was also a former member of the Photography Club of Delaware and the West Chester Lions Club and volunteered at Safe Harbor of Chester County.

Each family dog adored him, and his favorite sound was his grandchildren’s voices around the Thanksgiving and Christmas table. Even in his final weeks, he greeted everyone with the same firm handshake and cheeky smile he gave all his life.

He was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne (Tancredi), his sister Kitty Grasty and his parents Chester and Katherine Wojciechowski.

He is lovingly remembered by his three children Scott (Stephani) Walker, Jennifer (Troy) Campbell and Stephanie (Allen) Nichols, and four grandchildren: Austin (Paola) Walker, Bryce Walker, Benjamin (Morgan) Campbell and Julia Campbell.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Safe Harbor Safe Harbor of Chester County .
