Obituary

Colleen Ann Bauer went to be with Jesus on August 30, 2022, at the age of 66. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on February 24, 1956. She lived in various locations in PA and FL before finally settling in Lititz, PA. Colleen was kind and compassionate to all, making friends everywhere she went. Colleen leaves behind a legacy of serving others with a joyful heart. For most of her life, she enjoyed caring for people with intellectual and physical disabilities; both as a foster parent and as a direct support professional in a group home. She loved her family dearly, and freely sacrificed much personal comfort over the years to ensure their happiness. When cancer reared its ugly head, she was more than ready to meet her savior. She braved a year of chemotherapy to gift whatever time she had left to her family. In the midst of this battle, she would often sit and play with her grandchildren and remark how their joy reminded her that "it was all worth it. " Colleen leaves behind many grieving but grateful family members, including sons, Patrick (Jen) Bauer and James (Amy) Bauer and four grandchildren. She also leaves four nieces and several grandnieces, grandnephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Anna Ryan, and her brother, Dan Ryan. All are encouraged to attend a celebration of life service at Lancaster Evangelical Free Church (419 Pierson Rd, Lititz) on Saturday, September 17 at 11:00 AM with lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial donations to Vickie's Angel Foundation (vickiesangelfoundation. org) and/or Hospice & Community Care (hospiceandcommunitycare. org).
