It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cricket Franck Dodge on November 6, 2025.

Born on March 26, 1965, in Oroville, California, to the late Beverly and Carl Franck, she was the loving sister to Jil Alison Wood (Robert Wood, Mackenzie Wood, Aubrey Wood). Cricket’s childhood was spent in Willows and Chico, California; Honiara, Solomon Islands; and Bangkok, Thailand. She graduated from the International School of Bangkok (ISB) in 1983, and attended Oregon University and Chico State University, before graduating from Shippensburg University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education.

Cricket was a dedicated elementary school educator for 30 years where she taught in schools in Virginia, Thailand, and Pennsylvania. She touched the lives of countless students with the love and joy she poured into her teaching. As a teacher, she gave her students far more than lessons – she gave them grace, compassion, encouragement, and the belief that they could accomplish anything. She saw the good in every child and taught from a place of patience and unconditional love. Her classroom was a safe space where students felt understood, respected, and celebrated for exactly who they were.

Cricket was a devoted wife of 36 years to Brooks A. Dodge, her high school sweetheart, whom she met at ISB during her sophomore year. Cricket and Brooks were married at the Mendocino Presbyterian Church in Mendocino, California on August 12, 1989. Cricket was an incredible mother to her three daughters: Emily Arin Klodowski (David Klodowski), Sophie Rachel Dodge (Adam Stern), and Hannah Elise Dodge. Her first grandson, Charlie Franklin Klodowski, brought her immense joy. She cherished being his Nana.

Cricket was diagnosed with endometrial cancer in 2023 but showed incredible strength and courage throughout her years of treatment, inspiring others with her joy, generosity, and love of life. Cricket loved being by the water, whether on the beaches of Thailand or beside Molasses Pond in Maine. She was known for her warm smile and brought fun and laughter into everything she did. She loved watching the sunset, enjoying her husband’s Thai cooking, gathering with friends, cuddling with her dog Blue, and most of all, spending time with her three daughters. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
