Douglas Eugene Wickenheiser

Douglas E. Wickenheiser, 68, of Lancaster, passed away at Lancaster General Hospital on April 24, 2026. Born in Lancaster in 1957, he was the son of the late James W. and Joan M.Wickenheiser. He was also the son of Joan Kendig.

Doug worked pipeline jobs for many years and enjoyed fishing, going to yard sales, listening to music and reading a good book.

He loved the outdoors and spending time in his yard and on his porch. He connected with passersby; he had great neighbors who’d stop to chat a bit or share a meal. His dogs were his babies and constant companions

Doug is survived by Chad Wickenheiser (Kate); a daughter; his sisters, Jill Dempsey (Faye), Jodi Bowman (Dennis), Karen Wingenroth, Teresa Wickenheiser (Victor), Jennifer Moses (Shawn); his brother, Antonio Cruz (Michelle); his sister -in- law, Susan Wickenheiser; 3 Grandchildren; his aunt, Mary Sexton (Joe); as well as many nieces and nephews who loved and cared for him dearly. In addition, he also leaves his beloved dogs Zoey, Chase and Stink.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his two brothers, Jeffery Dempsey and Craig Wickenheiser (his best friend); and one nephew.

At Doug’s request there will be no services.
