On Saturday, June 17, 2023, Frank McLean Smith, Sr. , loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died at the age of 97 at Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy, Pa. Preceded in death by his wife Mary I. Smith, wife Barbara A. Smith, and son David Smith. Survived by his children, Beverly (Ronald, d. ) Patterson, Frank (Deidra) Smith, Jr. , and Robin (Michael) McCord, his four grandchildren David (Sherry) Crissman, Eric Patterson, Erin (Mark) Campbell, and Phillip McCord, and 6 great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Eric, Jr. , Jack, Faith, Patrick, and Elizabeth. Born in Palm Springs, Florida and grew up in the mountains of Waynesboro, North Carolina. Enlisted in the U. S. Navy and was honorably discharged after serving in WWII. Sold furniture for Sears for 40 years while raising and supporting his family. Retired in Ocean City, Md for 30+ years where he shared his love for the ocean, gardening, and traveling with family and close friends. Lived his last years in Washington Boro, Pa. Very much loved and respected by all he knew. His memory will always be carried their hearts.
