Gary L. Hoover

Gary L. Hoover, aged 79, of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, passed away in Ephrata, Pennsylvania on April 20, 2026, after bravely facing cancer for twelve years.

Born in Hummelstown on September 10, 1946, by parents Garland and Ora Hoover. Gary spent his formative years in his hometown alongside siblings Vicki Geehan, Dennis Hoover, and Kim Kurz. He graduated from Unionville High School in 1964 and explored numerous paths to support his family throughout his life.

Gary married three times and, during his second marriage to Barbara O’Connor, welcomed his son Jason Hoover. He is survived by daughter-in-law Shelley Coleman and her son Ian Coleman, stepdaughters Patrice Doster and Crystal King, as well as step-grandchildren Kellen Doster and Laylah Hackman, and Colten Ross.

His parents preceded him in death.

Known for his generosity, sharp wit, and unmistakable sense of humor, Gary provided comfort to those around him and left behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.

A private celebration of life will be held with close family and friends.
