Obituary

Gerald Kent Baldwin died peacefully on Tuesday 23 July, in Lancaster, PA, at the age of 83.

Gerald, "Papa," is survived by his wife, Jane (Sink) Baldwin; his daughter, Jenifer Stubbs (John); his sisters, Becky Angle (Freddie) and Barbara Johnson; his grandchildren, Jessica Stubbs (Abby) and Jason Stubbs; and great-grandchildren, Wilder Stubbs and Rio Stubbs.

Gerald was born on 27 MAR 1941 in Roanoke, VA to Wilson and Sylvia (Kelly) Baldwin. Upon graduating from high school, he entered the Navy as a storekeeper on an LST – serving his country from 1959 until 1965 when he was honorably discharged. Anyone who knew Gerald, knew that he was a salesman at heart, whether that was selling men's clothing, appliances, office supplies and ultimately in the mobile home manufacturing business where he spent the majority of his career as a sales leader and plant manager.

Gerald was notorious for picking up hobbies for short periods of time, including bowling, photography, razor collecting and antiquing. His more consistent hobbies included playing tennis and golf, and his love for fishing, especially on Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia, where he (impatiently) passed on this passion to his granddaughter. Gerald was also an active member in the Freemason Society (Ephrata, PA) and the Jaycees (Danville, VA).

The family will be celebrating his life privately.
