Gideon Paul Shoemaker, 26, arrived at his eternal home on January 14, 2025.

Born April 3, 1998, Gideon came into this world with a full head of dark curly hair and talking (which he never stopped doing). He was an adventurer who loved to take chances with little regard for personal safety or the gray hairs he gave his parents. Gideon loved to read, learning new things, taking things apart (not necessarily putting them back together), tinkering with engines, fancy rocks and geodes, and creating things. He loved to

entertain people and had a special talent for making people laugh and telling great stories. He was a good friend, a consummate salesman, kind and helpful to others and a sensitive soul.

He was a 2016 graduate of Dallastown Area High School.

He will be fiercely missed by his parents Daniel and Erica Shoemaker of Glen Rock, PA; his older brother and best friend, Nathaniel (Taylor) Shoemaker of New Freedom, PA and his little sister, Ivy Shoemaker at home.  Gideon was everyone's favorite and his loss leaves a big empty space. But there is comfort in knowing we will see him again.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Mark L. Shoemaker and his maternal grandparents Wayne L Shick and Cynthia M Trowbridge.

Services will be private at the convenience of the immediate family.
