Jack E. Curren

Jack Eugene Curren, born in Elmira, NY, on August 14, 1943, to the late Clayton Charles and Geraldine (Baily) Curren, he was a 1962 graduate of Southside High School and was a member of the Boy Scouts for many years. He earned his Eagle Scout badge.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Jack had a franchise delivery service for Pepsi Cola and was a district manager for Miracle Maid Cookware in Connecticut.

In the early 1970s, he owned 4 tractor trailers and hauled furniture throughout eastern Pennsylvania for AFF Freight and Goodway Transportation. In the mid 1990s, he became a furniture representative for several companies such as Tennessee Enterprises, Walton Bars, Murphy Cedar Chests, and Fangio Lighting. In 2000, he owned a furniture store in Mechanicsburg called Jacks Home Furnishings, and a wholesale business was also run through this store. The store was sold in 2007 and then rebought in 2014 as Curren Furniture.

He also did a large business with the Amish community with poly outdoor furniture.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara. He is survived by two brothers, James, married to Cindy, and Steven. His children from his first wife, Carol Rae Garrison, also survive - Cheryl, married to Ted Kozairzki, Jack, married to Denise, and Chris, married to Holly. His two children from his second wife, Deb Nelis, also survive - D'vette, married to Mikey and Scott, married to Lindsey Graham, who now runs the furniture business.

Jack married Nadine Miller in 2007 and resided in Strasburg. 

Surviving are 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Nadine has three daughters, Tonya Gerety, Kollyne Sgro, and Renee Jones

All of the children and grandchildren loved their "grandpa", "Pap Jack", and "Apple Jack" very much!

A celebration of life will be held at Grace Community Church in Willow Street on August 24 at 11AM. Friends will be received from 10AM until the start of the service.
