James G Archer, 75, of Maytown passed away on Sunday, May 26 at home with his wife and daughter by his side. Born July 14, 1948 in Rockville MD. He was the son of the late Gene and Juanita Archer. He celebrated 24 years of marriage with Denise on May 18.

Jim worked as an Allstate Insurance Agent/Independent Contractor for 45 years, up to the time of his death. Never quite ready to retire.

Welcoming family, friends, and strangers into his home he was a true gentleman, kind and so generous to all he met. A quiet man that never spoke unless he had something to say, and people listened. As he was always genuinely interested in what you had to say. If Jim liked you, he loved you and he loved his family passionately.

An avid sports memorabilia collector and passionate about the Washington Redskins, where Jim and his family were deeply rooted in the locker room. He was known for his spectacular "Redskins Room" and loved sharing the history and stories. You were in awe from the moment you walked into his room.

Survived by his wife Denise, Maytown. One daughter, Danielle wife of Freddy States, Marietta. 2 stepsons, Chad Brubaker husband of Lean, N Dartmouth, MA and Matthew Brubaker, Lancaster. 2 grandchildren, Freddy and Holland States and 3 step granddaughters,  Norah, Naomi and Chelsea Brubaker. 1 nephew, Jarrett Archer and wife Laura and grand nephew Lucas Archer. Also 2 brothers, Jeff, MD and Jarrett, TX.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday June 17th at McClearys Pub, Marietta starting at 5 PM.
