Jeffrey D. Himes

Jeffrey D. ("Pokey") Himes, 66, of Hummelstown, passed away on October 24, 2026. Born in Harrisburg in 1960, he was the son of Donald and Betty (Robinson) Himes and a 1978 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School.

He was a professional Food & Beverage manager having worked at Gingerbread Man in Shippensburg and Scott’s Grill in Harrisburg. Outside of work, his passion was hockey. In his youth as a player and later in life, he was a devout Hershey Bears and Washington Capitals fan. Musically talented, he played the trumpet and loved to sing.

Pokey was a courageous recovering alcoholic, celebrating sobriety from June 23, 2015.  He attended Pine Street Presbyterian Church in downtown Harrisburg.

Jeff is survived by his brother Jay Himes of Harrisburg; his aunt, Cindy R. Parker of Sylva, NC; 4 nephews and nieces; as well as many friends he made across central Pennsylvania during his life.
