Obituary

Jeremy S. Charles , 39, of Holtwood, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic accident on February 23, 2026. Born on April 30, 1986, in Lancaster, he was the son of Benjamin and Beth (Lainhoff) Charles and the beloved husband of Kristen Charles, with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.

Jeremy was a proud graduate of Solanco High School, Class of 2004. He began his career in construction that same year, finding deep satisfaction in building with his own hands and taking pride in a job well done. He was always the first to offer help on any project, no matter how big or small.

Five years ago, Jeremy began a new chapter working for Amtrak. He approached his work with dedication, reliability, and an unwavering work ethic that earned the respect of everyone around him.

Above all else, Jeremy loved his family fiercely. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was especially proud to be a Field Hockey dad to his daughters, Isabelle and Abigail, rarely missing a game and cheering them on as their biggest fan. Jeremy was an avid outdoorsman and hunter who also enjoyed reloading bullets, tackling DIY projects, working out, hiking, and spending time with the people he loved most.

Jeremy was a Christian and a member of Grace Community Church in Willow Street.

In addition to his wife, Kristen, he is survived by his daughters, Isabelle and Abigail, both at home; his parents, Benjamin and Beth Charles; his brother Rob Charles, husband of Kim, and their children Caleb and Sydney; and his brother Mike Charles, husband of Leanne, and their children Benjamin and Nicholas. He is also survived by many extended family members, nieces, nephews, and countless friends whose lives were deeply touched by his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Grace Community Church, 212 Peach Bottom Road, Willow Street, PA 17584, March 6, 2026, at 5 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Paul Weitzel. Refreshments will follow the service. In honoring his memory and celebrating his life, the family invites everyone to wear casual, comfortable clothing instead of traditional black.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the GoFundMe established to support the Charles family during this difficult time: https://gofund.me/5bce728d0
