Jessie Lavell Wesner, 90, of Tamaqua, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2021 in Hospice at Providence Place in Pine Grove. She was born September 18, 1931 in Sylvester, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Power and Menvil Katherine Jeffrey Power. Jessie was the oldest of siblings; Bettie Cloise Paulhamus of Florida, Roy Lynn Power of Texas, and Nancy Lou Hunt of California. She was a seamstress in McAdoo, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed traveling, reading books, and gardening. Jessie met her late husband William J. Wesner in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. They moved to Pennsylvania and had four children; Patricia A. Wesner of Hazelton, Alan R. Wesner (the late Deborah A. Ryan Wesner) of Weatherly, Sherry Baurys (Mark) of Lattimer Mines, and Christine Pierson (Eric), Philadelphia. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; Kathleen Zubritsky, Amy Cusatis, Nathan Wesner, Keith Wesner, Angela Salko, Lonnie Conahan, Leah Conahan, Tiffany Pierson, Crystal Pierson, Ryan Pierson, several greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Her heart will always be in Texas. It was a special place for her. We will hold you in our hearts until we can hold you again in Heaven. Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
