Kay L. Johnson

Kay L. Johnson, 89, of Shrewsbury, passed away on September 16, 2026. Born in Conowingo, MD to the late Frederick and Ethel (Lloyd) Volz, she was the wife of the late Robert Anderson Johnson who died in 2003.  Prior to moving to Shrewsbury she resided for over 20 years at Equine Meadows, Red Lion MD.

Kay was a loving daughter, wife, and mother who worked as a substitute teacher at both Darlington Elementary School and Havre de Grace High School.

In addition, she loved gardening and watching the many birds that came to her bird feeder.

She is survived by her daughter, Robin and husband Richard Douglas of Hunt Valley Maryland; her sons Robert W. Johnson and his wife Julie of Ocean Pines Maryland, and Kenneth S. Johnson and his wife Caroline of Delta PA; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; as well as extended family and friends.
