Kimma Beth Hefner, 84, passed away at Wellspan York Hospital on June 24, 2026. Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia in August of 1941, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Bernice (Stutler) Wright.
She graduated from Victory High School (Clarksburg, WV) and attended Potomac State College for nursing. She served as a District Sales Manager for Avon for over 30 years.
Kimma was a natural animal enthusiast. Her love of animals flourished as a teen with her dog Bounce and continued throughout her life including breeding and showing dogs and Canaries.
She had a natural gift towards understanding the nature and behavior of most animals and loved interacting with all animals. She dedicated care for all animals in need, no matter how big or small, especially cats in her community. She taught dog obedience and handling classes within her local community.
She had a "green thumb" and enjoyed propagating African Violets and other plants. There was never a plant she could not nurse back to health.
She was an aquarist who loved raising and breeding tropical fish. Her "aquarium rooms" were beautiful and stunning with her natural sand tanks loaded with a variety of live plants and tropical fish.
When she finally found time to sit down, she created beautiful graphics using her homemade color wheel and her coloring pencils.
Kimma began her own local Stamping Up Club which provided area residences with a place to socialize, share and have fun while tapping into their creative side.
She was baptized into the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by her daughters Kammi Kai Hefner and Karrie Dee Hefner.
