Lawrence Irvin Conrad, 77, of Carlisle, passed away on July 24, 2026. Born in Philipsburg, PA (Centre County), he was the son of the late Samuel I. and Anna Louise (Everhart) Conrad

Larry was a long-time university professor specializing in Arabic and Near Eastern Studies, teaching at various academic institutions throughout his career.

Outside of academia, Larry had a lifelong passion for music. He was an avid guitar player with a deep love for blues music, and he cherished time spent with his close circle of friends.

In accordance with Larry’s explicit wishes, no formal service or memorial will be held. His ashes will be scattered privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Larry’s memory may be made to the research fund of the Department of Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University.
