Obituary

Llewellyn G. Klinedinst, 88, of York, passed away at his residence on January 26, 2026. Born in York, to the late Isaac and Alice (Grim) Klinedinst, he was the loving husband of Betty Jane Leisenring with whom he shared 72 years of marriage.

He attended William Penn High School in York where he played football and basketball. After completing high school, Llewellyn took college courses in mechanical engineering, which led him to his career in HVAC service. He retired in 1999 after more than 40 years in the industry.

After retiring, he enjoyed traveling nearly full-time. He and Betty visited all 50 states and most Canadian provinces - they extensively visited Alaska and Nova Scotia. In addition to traveling, Llewellyn enjoyed woodworking, wood carvings, and basket making.

Llewellyn was a member of the Hawks Club, Viking Club, and the Masonic order for more than 40 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Lew; his daughters, Peggy (Jay) Nye, Lori (the late Jim) Herbst; grandchildren, Brandon (Amy) Snow, and Jessica Warner; and great-grandchildren, Maddie, Ellis, and Laylah.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
