Louis Raymond Matters , 77, of Lancaster, passed away at Hershey Medical Center on March 12, 2026. Born in Lebanon in 1948 to the late Raymond E. and Xaviere (Bernardini) Matters, Louis was a proud veteran of the United States Navy from 1966 - 1969, having served aboard the USS Bellgrove. After honorably discharged from the US Navy in 1969, he served in the Naval Reserves until 1972.

Louis owned LRS Electric and worked as an electrician for more than 30 years. He was a lifetime member of the Otters Club, including as treasurer of the club and president of the Otters baseball team. He was a diehard fan of the Phillies and Eagles.

He is survived by his sisters Paulette (Donald) Roden and Lisa (Aixa Rivera) Matters; brother, Antoine “Tony” (Linda) Matters; nieces Tanya (Jon) Echterling, Eric (Trelissa) Roden, Jennifer Matters, and Jason (Paula) Matters; nephews, Josh (Lisa) Matters, Bryan Sterback, and Kelixa Rivera; as well as extended family (including many great-nieces and nephews) and many friends.
