In Loving Memory of Manuel Montanez
September 2, 1957 – October 23, 2026
Manuel Montanez, 69, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 23, 2026, at Rose City Nursing & Rehab.
Born in Patillas, Puerto Rico, in September 2 ,1957, he was the son of Juan and Blasina (Ortiz) Montanez. Manuel was of the Christian faith and took great pride in his Puerto Rican heritage.
Manuel enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including watching a good boxing match, cheering during baseball games, and listening to his favorite salsa music. He had a special love for roosters, the Puerto Rican flag, and anything that reminded him of his roots. He also enjoyed playing the lottery and trying his luck with his favorite numbers.
Above all, Manuel deeply loved his two daughters, Shalin and Mexayra, who held a very special place in his heart. No matter the distance between them, the love they shared remained strong. The conversations, laughter, memories, and moments they shared will forever be treasured. His life was filled with experiences, challenges, and meaningful moments that helped shape the memories his loved ones will carry with them.
Manuel is survived by his beloved daughters, Shalin Candelaria and Mexayra Ortiz; his sons-in-law, Isaac Candelaria and Danny Ortiz; and his cherished grandchildren, Josaia, Isaiah, Hazaiah, Jovany, Jariel, and Daniellise. He is also survived by his brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews of the Montanez family, as well as extended family members and friends.
Although Manuel is no longer physically present, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love that remains in the hearts of his family.
May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by God's love. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
The family invites relatives and friends to share their condolences, photographs, and cherished memories in the online guestbook as a way of honoring and celebrating Manuel's life.
