Obituary

Michael R. Weaver , 76, of Manheim, passed away at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy on March 7, 2026. Born in Lititz to the late Donald and Barbara (Slesser) Weaver, he was the long-time companion of Editha “Jill” Smith with whom he shared a 46-year relationship.

Michael was a proud graduate of Warwick High School and worked his entire career (49 years) for Lititz Boro in the maintenance department and was also an electrician. Outside of work, Michael was an avid hunter and firearm enthusiast who had previously had a license to buy and sell firearms. Michael enjoyed nature and nature photography with a particular interest in bears, deer, and birds. His home was adorned with photographs that he took with his professional camera. He was also a member of the Elstonville Sportsman’s Association.

Michael and his family had a cabin in Dushore in Sullivan County (upstate Pennsylvania) where he enjoyed teaching his hobby of hunting to his beloved grandchildren.

In addition to his companion, Jill, he is survived by his step-daughter JoBeth (Keith Soders) Kissinger; his step-son Kenneth (Mae) Banks; brother Kenneth; his sisters Cindy and Beverly; grandchildren, Kyle Kissinger and Mason Kissinger, Janell Banks, Jasmin Banks, Thea Banks, Kaylie Banks; his great-grandchildren, Orion, Leon, Nyah, Emrys, and Sophia; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

The family would like to thank the Blue Team for their in-home care and Inpatient team both at Hospice & Community Care for the wonderful care. Michael and his family were very impressed with the level of care he received. Michael was dedicated to his family; his family will miss him deeply.

As the family honors Michael's request and final wishes, there will be no services.
