Dr. Victoria Valerie Weaver

Victoria V. Weaver, 73, of Glenville, passed away on May 24, 2026. Born in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, to the late Robert and Mari (Hess) Rhinehart, she was the loving wife of Bruce D. Weaver with whom she shared 50 years of marriage.

Dr. Weaver held degrees from the University of Maryland (BS Art Education), Western Maryland College (Master of Science), and Penn State University (PhD).

Dr. Weaver taught Art and Art Education in Carroll County Maryland, followed by teaching at schools in the Penn State system, culminating in the position of department head at Millersville University.

She was a potter, a weaver, a quilter, an artist, and raised many animals on her farm. Her angora rabbits and Romney sheep provided a lot of yarn for her various projects. She loved having events on the farm to show people how to raise animals with care and purpose.

Victoria was active in many art related groups including watercolor societies, art clubs, and was a volunteer at museums including the Walter’s in Baltimore and the Rongling in Sarasota, Florida. She was very proud of her years on the turtle patrol in Venice where she protected the nests of sea turtles on the beach.

Victoria was a loving vivacious person who always put family first yet gave to her friends and community. In her final years she was making quilts for hospitalized veterans with at least 75 creations going out the door. Her house was always full of projects, friends and laughter!

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Weaver; her children, Jackson (Melanie), Andrew (Mandy), Eric (Gerry), and Christopher (Kari); her grandchildren, Chase, Logan, Madison, Kade, Laurel, Parker, Samantha, Adam, Katie, Lizzie, and Nick; as well as extended family and friends.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
