William B. Van Why

William (“Billy”) Benjamin Van Why, 70, of York, passed away at Yorkview Nursing & Rehab on June 18, 2026. Born in East Stroudsburg, PA in 1955, he was the son of the late Russell and Catherine (Fish) Van Why and a graduate of the Scranton Oral School for the Deaf and Johnstown Rehabilitation Center.

Billy loved his cat, Pepsi, and making crafts.

He is survived by his sister Kathy Jensen; his brother Steven Van Why; his nephew, Steven; his nieces, Jackie, Robin; and Nicole as well as 9 great-nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his daughter, April Rose Van Why.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
