Winnie M.
Bensinger
December 3, 1942 – September 25, 2025
Winnie Bensinger, 82, of Marietta, PA, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2025. She was born on December 3, 1942, to the late Benjamin and Mary (Norton) Simmers.
Winnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She was the glue that held them together, always offering love, support, and laughter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Claude Bensinger; her children, Claude Bensinger Jr. and his wife Barbara, Rebecca Treutle-Garman and her husband Richard, and Richard Bensinger. She was a proud grandmother to Christina Chalas and husband Julio Chalas Jr., Jeffrey Bensinger, Michael Bensinger, Kayla Treutle, and Jesse Bensinger and his wife Heaven Ferguson. She also cherished her two great-grandchildren, Layla Grant and Killian Grant.
Winnie is also survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Taylor and Betty Lee Genaro, and was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Simmers.
A woman of faith, Winnie was an active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—sitting on the porch of her family’s vacation home at Broadkill Beach with a good book, cheering on her favorite sports teams, enjoying cooking shows, and laughing along with her favorite sitcoms. She will be remembered for her warm heart, strong spirit, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy will live on in the memories she created and the example she set for those who loved her.
A private service to celebrate Winnie’s life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
