Obituary

Yvonne Lynne "Bella" Whitzel (Felker), 68, of Etters, Pa, was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on February 21, 2025 at home surrounded by her family.

Born on July 27, 1956 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Felker and Suella (Fagen) Bentzel. She grew up in Lemoyne Pennsylvania where she was active in the community. Yvonne was a 1975 graduate of Cedar Cliff High School Camp Hill, Pennsylvania.

Yvonne dedicated 24 years of service to Giant Food Stores, where she was a bagger and took great joy in bagging customers' groceries and countless conversations while assisting them with their individual needs. Her warm personality and enthusiasm earned her the affectionate title of the "Hotdog Queen" for many years.

Yvonne was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her daughter Amy Felker-Smith of Etters, Pa; Grandsons Noah Felker-Smith Sr., Jayden Felker-Smith, and Evan Felker-Smith all of Etters, Pa; and a great-grandson Noah Felker-Smith Jr. of Dover, Pa. She also leaves behind her sister MaryAnn and her husband Ken Bittner of New Cumberland, Pa; her brother Alvin D. Felker Jr.,daughter Alicia Felker and son Christopher Hommel of New Cumberland, Pa; nephew Brandon and wife Beth and daughter Emily Bittner of Mechanicsburg, aunt Dottie and husband Dave Costanza of Harrisburg, Pa, and lots of nieces and nephews and friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank Whitzel; her parents, Suella (Fagen) Bentzel and Alvin D Felker Sr.; her step-parents Marlin Bentzel and Rosemarie Felker; and aunts Ann Brubaker, Mary Walker, Donna Buss, Barbara Salvatore and Nancy Strock.

Yvonne was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles Fan, had a passion for collecting figurines, and found a great joy in tending to her flowers and little garden. She earned the nickname Bella from her grandkids in which she cherished time spent with them, especially her great grandson Noah Jr. He was the twinkle in her eye. Family gatherings and church events brought her immense happiness. She was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Etters, Pa, where she found comfort in faith and community. In her younger days she was a member of the Girl Scouts where she was known as the "cookie master" for the countless number of boxes she would sell. The community loved her.

Yvonne's warmth, kindness, and love for family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. Cremation Services of Pennsylvania are handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to her church; Zion Lutheran Church of Etters Pa.
